The Visionary Behind Binawan: The Legacy of Ir. Saleh Saeed Alwaini

The Binawan story began in 1975 when the Saudi Arabian oil boom created an unprecedented demand for Indonesian labor. Ir. Saleh Alwaini, an engineer with an entrepreneurial instinct and the heart of a visionary, saw more than just a business opportunity — he saw a responsibility. Unlike competitors who focused solely on recruitment volume, he invested in something rare at the time: quality.

Two brothers, Ir. Saleh Alwaini and Anies Alwaini, established a manpower placement company born from a conversation at their dining table.
1980
Mercu Binawan
Driven by early success, the company transformed with a sharper focus on quality and professionalism in deploying labor to the Middle East.
1984
Binawan Praduta
One of the first Vocational Training Centers in Indonesia specifically designed to prepare migrant workers.
2000
GHPD Inaugurated
Global Health Professional Development formally inaugurated with the support of key national ministries.
2018
Binawan University
STIKes Binawan officially transformed into Binawan University, expanding beyond health sciences into a multidisciplinary institution.
2024
National Leadership
CEO Said Saleh Alwaini appointed Chairman of APJATI, the national association of Indonesian manpower services companies.
